Jaime Beitler
Jaime spent her childhood days dreaming of color and ways to brightly decorate the world around her. With an eclectic background in art, she has found her passion in mixed media. Her work mixes contemporary color with the timeless beauty of vintage papers. Each piece is a direct look into her heart as she works through the joys and sorrows of life. Her dream is to inspire women to live freely and experience their journeys fully; to move
beyond the world's expectations and live in the bliss that comes when each person understands they are created for a unique purpose.
Jennifer Willis
Jenna Willis is an artist and designer based in Denver, Colorado. She has been working in the field for over 10 years. Her works have been shown in several galleries, including the Anderson Collection in Richmond, VA and Kitchen's Ink Gallery in Denver, CO. She also has permanent exhibits at the Modern Art Musem of Brussels and the Park of the Future Collective in Amsterdam. Her work focuses on the juxtaposition of beauty and decay, and her current collection "Time Out of Mind" is based on the literary and social movement known as Steampunk or Neovictorian. BEADS, BRAIDS and BROWS . . . a Fridastyle ArtShow featuring 12 local artists.
OPENING PARTY: 3RD THURSDAY on 32ND AVENUE - JULY 17, 2008 from 5 to 9 pm
ArtShow runs through July 20, 2008.
Frida Kahlo born July 6, 1907, died July 13, 1954. Her flamboyant, colorful life and ability to overcome personal challenge has inspired artists for years. Each year artists from Denver and beyond - look forward to Studio Bead's annual artshow with great anticipation. Many Frida followers pay homage to the giant shrine that is tucked behind the shop. 12 local artists create sculpture, altered art, collage, paintings, shrines, dolls and FridaStyle jewelry that are shown and sold at Studio Bead. Some say Frida can be seen trying on jewelry with her long skirt swaying intime to the music.
This year we are thrilled to host a favorite, local, clay-artist Marie Gibbons. Marie along with some of her students will show small tokens of Frida inspired art. EVB Studio is located at 4343 W. 44th Avenue, right by the Oriental Theater. Don't miss Marie's exhibit at the upcoming Cherry Creek Arts Festival. www.mariegibbons.com
Fridamania festivities include:
- music on the patio
- Frida film viewing outside on the building at dusk
- sangria sipping and tasty tamales
- Guests are encouraged to bring an offering for the Frida shrine
- Unibrows are provided upon request.
